In my experience, and in the writing community experience in general, I’ve noticed that getting reviews is really hard. It looks like readers are not aware of how important reviews are for authors and their books.
However, reviews are like injections of fresh blood that keep books alive and strong enough to fight. They give the books the strength to remain afloat in the publishing ocean that is flooded every week with at least 20,000 new books, most of them, unfortunately, made by AI.

But to help you, dear reader, to understand how powerful reviews are, just think about the last thing you bought online. Did you simply trust the words in the ad you saw, or did you look deep into the reviews about the product to make your purchasing decision?
Books are not different. They may have an amazing cover, a great blurb (synopsis) and be pitched as the last wonder of the world, but if they do not have enough reviews, they will flop tragically.

In my case, making sales and having reviews are even harder; I write to people who have no money (kids), and even when their parents buy my book and their children love it, it is the parents who remain in charge of leaving a review about it on Amazon. And as we know, parents are busy people.
Another misconception people may have is that if they read a book and found it great, other people will automatically think the same about it when they come across its page on Amazon or in the shelves of a bookstore. No, they won’t. The only thing a potential consumer thinks about a new product, be it a book or not, is something like, “Is this any good?”, and “Well, let me take a look at the reviews.”

If you are one of those few amazing people on Earth who love writing reviews about the books you read, please get in touch through the contact page, and I’ll send you a free personalized PDF of my book so you can read it and leave an honest review on Amazon with your thoughts and impressions about it.
Happy reading to you all!
