Daily writing prompt
What makes you laugh?

“Memories, memories for sale,” would say the seller of the Man Hat On city harbor.

Memories are valuable. They make me laugh and make me happy.

That happens when I remember my dad, my dog, and Kito, a bird I used to have.

I lost my dad about two weeks ago, and every day I remember a new thing about him. The last old memory I had was today because he used to take me to the bakery every Saturday morning when I was a child. Then we used to eat some good fried stuff.

Barely did I know that it was his presence that turned that moment good; I could go to the bakery today and eat the same thing we used to, but it would not be the same.

Dad

The memories I have of my-almost-mine dog Duke also make me happy. I even wrote about him here.

Duke

And I also had a crazy bird who would whistle all day long, bringing life to my house. Okay, sometimes he was a little boring with all his singing, chirping, and whistling. But it was good to have someone making noise in my house that now is silent.

Kito, the destroyer of plants

I lost them all, but their memories linger on.

  1. No ,you didn’t lose them. They are in your memory, in your heart and in heaven, waiting for you all to meet again. I believe in that

    2. Dear Michael and Matea,

This is the power of three again! I would like to resonate and complement the spirit and poignancy of Michael’s post and photography with my musical composition entitled “The Sunset Lingers On”:

Let us savour the enchanting music as we witness a new horizon and journey towards a lingering sunset just as the treasured essences of the beloved ones and “their memories linger on” within Michael.

      Yours sincerely,
