I have a small account on Threads.net. Yet yesterday I posted a simple homage to my dad there. However, I was not expecting anything out of it. I just posted a farewell message to honor his memory and turn public my love for him.
For my surprise, it reached thousands of people, with more than a hundred of them leaving a message of support. Not that at this moment likes and comments matter. But the messages of support ranging from “Be strong” to “I lost my dad too…” followed by the full account of it made me feel I was not alone and also made things a little easier for me while dealing with all the bureaucracy and costs envolving the death of a loved one, a lovely dad.
The likes also were important, not because of engagement of anything like that, but because every time I got a notification saying a user liked my post, I knew that someone had seen my message and the love I feel for my dad.
Here on this blog, I’d like to personally thank the support of Matea Kacarevic, Rick Mallery, AKings, DirtySciFiBuddha, Anthony Robert, Andrea, sebstead, and AdamFenner.
It’s an honor to have you all here.
