Writing a book or articles on the internet like the ones I post in this blog is a pleasant experience. I love everything about it: the little characters appearing in my screen as I type these words, the sound produced by my keyboard keys, and the blocks of text I get as a final result.

However, it’s not always easy too keep a good writing routine. Right now I’m taking care of my dad in the hospital. He’s suffering from several health problems for a while now, and this is taking a toll on me and stealing my joy as an author.

But even when you, as an author, are going through the cloudy moments of life, you have to keep writing. That’s what we do, no matter what. And let’s be honest, everyone has problems, and if we let our daily problems take us off from our path, we’ll never accomplish anything in life. There are days we are too tired, in a bad mood, stressed out, having a headache, or whatever. Reasons to simply give up and rise the white flag pile up by the door.

I’m still involved in taking care of my dad, and I hope he will get back on his feet soon. But until then, I’ll keep writing, posting articles here on this blog about my research related to parenting and managing all the other aspects of my life as an author.

And you, what moves you to keep writing? Have you ever thought about quitting as an author/blogger due to hardships? I’d love to read about your experiences and how you managed those situations, so feel free to leave a comment below and share them with us.

Happy reading/writing! See you all.

  1. Writing is my creative outlet that keeps me grounded and at ease. I love working on my blog and my novel, but if it is not bringing me joy, I put it down for the moment.

    1. That’s a good approach. Sometimes we just need to breathe fresh air and organize our ideas. Thank you for your comment!
