Daily writing prompt
What is one word that describes you?

I’m a persistent person; every true writer must be. Imagine working for years, investing your time into a job, and doing all that without getting a penny for it. That was what I did for 12 years until publishing my book.

Now, after this intense process, I needed to learn a new set of skills to promote my book and convince readers that it’s worth reading. And I tell you, that’s a hard job. Not because it’s hard to sell my book, but because I had to totally change my approach to it, how I see it, and which aspects of it would make a potential reader interested in it.

That’s a hard process, mostly because I have to basically forget how I used to see and understand my book as its author, and now look at it as a reader. This hat changing from authors hat to readers hat is really challenging.

Besides all that, I wrote this book during summer days and during stormy days. Everything is fine? Keep writing! Everything is falling apart? It doesn’t matter; keep writing!

I can say that the conception of my book was like the one of a mother during her childbirth. It was a mixture of pain, grief, and happiness.

My book still did not hit it big; it’s not a success; it was published just 3 months ago. I see it as a toddler who I must care for and nurture while bringing to life his little brother: the next book of the series.

When I look at everything around, it looks like all the odds are against me. But I’ll not give up—I’m persistent!
